Introducing Lucas Wesley! This cute little peanut was exactly 1 week old when he came to my studio after he was born at the University Medical Center of Princeton.
Lucas was a little early, and Mom told me about those worrying first few days of being the mother of a teeny tiny early baby:
Lucas surprised us 3 weeks early. He came into this world weighing 5 pounds 11 oz and measuring 18 inches. It was an emotional 72 hours that involved some time in the NICU and readmission to the hospital. But Lucas has proved to be small but mighty and has been doing great.
And of course, when he came to my studio, I got to see for myself what an amazing little guy they have. He’s so beautiful and strong! It’s always a touching experience with early babies, and I’m impressed every time by not only the babies’ strength but by the strength of their parents.
I also asked Mom how they chose little Luca’s name:
When we found out we were pregnant, we very quickly came up with a couple girl names and boy names that we loved. We had a gender reveal party on the July 4 weekend with all of our family, and once the blue balloons came out of the bag….we knew our baby boy would be Lucas “Luca”!!
And I thought that they had the best reveal for how they told their family and friends that they were pregnant:
We had an early baby moon in the first trimester to Bermuda . . . a trip that we will always remember. It is there that we announced to the world via words in the sand that we were pregnant!
What better way to announce a miracle than from paradise?
Rashmi & Clint, thank you so much for bringing your little boy to my studio. I loved getting to meet you all and hear your stories!
